My Life
Hi, my name is Patricia Gwen Staples but, everyone calls me Patti. Iam sixteen years old and from Peguis First Nation. I was born in Arborg on Febuary 16th 1986 weighing in at 6lbs 5oz. I have lived in peguis and Hodgson my entire life and am currently attending the Peguis Central School. Iam now finishing my grade ten. I like playing sports, riding anything with wheels, hanging out with friends and traveling.
Hobbies
I have alot of different hobbies. I like keeping myself always busy. In my spare time after school i usually go riding in my jeep with my friends. In the evenings me, my brother and sisters would go 4 wheeling and dirt bike riding(mudbogging too). Iam the kind of person who likes to try different things. In my spare time I like to travel. Every year when I was younger my family would to go down to the states to visit famliy. When I was 12 I went on my 1st plane ride to Toronto for a school trip. I also went to Edmonton, Calgary, Banff and Jasper with my family. When I was 15 me and my friends got together and planned a trip to Paris France.The last trip i've been on was April of 2002 I went to the National Hockey Championships in Cornwall Ontario. We travled alot when we went ther some of the places we went through were Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, it was a cool trip 32 hours on the bus.

Sports
I play alot of sports my favorites are hockey baseball and basketball. When I was younger I was a figure skater, and i've always wanted to play hockey. So when I was 12 they made up a girls team.The first year we played we had exhibitions and sometimes tournments. We lost everything, except for the Hollow Water game(remember that game girls)The second year we played in the interlake league, we won a lil more games and we won the "B" banner. We also went to the Brandon womans native tournment and it went into over time and a shoot out. We played in the Winnipeg "C" league and we lost most of our games and came in 4th in the province.This last year we played "A"we did really good in the first half with only loosing 2 games and winning like 10, we were the top team in our catergory.The second half we lost a lil more but still in the end we were 3rd place.4th placed team in the province again this year. All summer I play baseball with the Peguis Players we won for 3 years in a row and last summer we finally had to give our title away cause we were getting sick of being the champs. We thought we would be nice and give the other teams a chance. This summer we are playing in the Winnipeg league so watch out winnipeg here we come. I also play part time highschool basketball with the Peguis Wolverines. I like badminton also(we da best eh teen?) even if we never won a game all these years we played, this is our year. Skiing is cool too I like that, next thing I wanna do is snowboard.

I come from a family of six. My parents are Jim and Priscilla. I have 3 siblings two sisters and one brother. My sisters are Jennnifer and Natasha, Jen is 14 and Natasha is 8. My brother is Bryan and he is 12.

My Home
Iam from the Peguis First Nation is the largest reserve in Manitoba with a population of 6000 of the ojibwe and cree descent. The Chief and Councial are Chief Louis Stevenson , Tyler Sutherland, loyd Sinclair, Glennis Sutherland,and Jim Sinclair. Peguis has alot of different schools and programs. They have a children head start for children that are too young for daycare, a daycare, nersery, Peguis new school gr.1-5, Peguis Central school gr.6-12, a unvirsity program, and a whole bunch of other programs for the older people. Some of the things we have in Peguis is Fire Hall, RCMP detachment, Percy.E.Moore Hospital, Peguis Health and dental center, Al-care Treatment center, Various Grocery stores, a mall, Community Hall, Various restaurants, Custom cabinets & millwork, Post Office, Areana, baseball diamonds, running tracks, several grages, band office, elders housing, various convenience stores, hairdressing salons, hardware store, senior center, peguis development corporation and a laundromat. Peguis has lots of hockey teams the mighty mights, two teams from squirts to midget with one girls team, a woman team, JR.B, mohawks and an old timmer team.

Future plans
I plan on finishing my grade 12 moving to winnipeg and going for univirsity. I dont know what for though but I'll know when im there. After I finish school and get a good paying job im traveling the world.
